Scientific Ways to Attract your Dream Audience
it’s not about the number of followers you have. It’s about WHO follows you, and who is willing to take time out of their day to use your products and services. Let’s clarify what attraction is to get your head in the game because this is a really important step to creating a soul-giving business.
Attraction is the power of evoking feelings of desire, interest, or liking. The psychology of attraction refers to the study of the reasons WHY we're attracted to certain people over others.
If you know me, you know that I am obsessed with psychology. So, let’s dive deep into these reasons.
01. Aesthetic Attraction
This refers to what people are attracted to visually. It's your brand identity that attracts your people. So, it’s important for you to display your services and products beautifully. You’re not only making your brand look compelling but also giving your audience an opportunity to see your soul and personality.
03. Energetic Attraction
Next is Energetic Attraction. I like to refer to this attraction as your “vibe”. The most contagious emotion is happiness. Positive energy tends to attract people. So think about what vibes you give off to your audience. Try to avoid being a “Negative Nancy” and resort to being a “Positive Penny” instead.
They like to see you growing and happy. So, do you ever watch videos of people doing crazy activities like sky diving or doing awkward things in public? It’s fascinating because these people are going out of their comfort zones. I believe people are drawn to these people because it’s something they feel they need for themselves. Get out of your comfort zone. People love to witness your growth.
Next is to share your personality whether it's through chatting on your Instagram stories or sharing an “about you” post. Let your humor shine when you interact with your audience. This allows them to get a feel of your "vibe", connect with your energy, and understand you better.
04. Emotional Attraction
Next is Emotional attraction. This is a deeper type of attraction. It’s how they feel connected to you in a lasting and meaningful way.
It’s important to make your audience feel seen and heard. You can do this by acknowledging some of the pain they may be experiencing in their business. Explain your passion behind how you can help solve this for them.
Have the courage to be vulnerable and share your own story. For example, you can share how you have come to start your design business and how you have overcome challenges along the way. By doing this, your audience will begin to develop a loyal following to your business journey.
05. Intellectual Attraction
And lastly is Intellectual Attraction. This is when people are interested in your mind, your thoughts, and your knowledge. You can do this by sharing some tips and tricks that align with some of the challenges they may be facing in their business. If your audience can learn something valuable from you, it can develop a level of trust in your expertise.
